High-voltage cabling in electric racing cars.

Introduction

Dynamics e.V. is a student team at the East Bavarian Technical University of Regensburg. Since 2008, the Dynamics e.V. teams have been developing and building racing cars every year in accordance with the international Formula Student regulations. Since 2019, the focus has been on the development of fully electric vehicles – a challenge that places the highest demands on technology, safety, and installation space.

Challenge

A key element of the 2025 vehicle is the high-voltage wiring, which transmits all electrical power from the battery via the inverter to the motors.

Solution

HUBER+SUHNER cables are characterized by their extremely high durability, especially in the demanding environment of racing cars. Thanks to the RADOX® insulation material, the cable has a particularly high current carrying capacity, which means that smaller cross-sections can be selected compared to conventional cables.
