Here, people work with whom it is simply fun to work together and with whom you push each other to the top.
Name: Thomas Schmidt
Task at TKD | CCG: Key Account Manager Connectivity
Location: Reutlingen
How long have you been with us?
In January 2022, it will be 17 years.
Why did you choose TKD | CCG?
I have been working in the cable and wire industry since 1988 and in 2005 I had the opportunity to play a major role in the expansion of CONNECTivity activities at TKD | CCG.
In a nutshell: What is your job with us?
I advise customers technically as well as commercially and look for the right ready-to-connect solution for you. CONNECTivity is not simply “stripping the cable, crimping on ferrules or attaching plugs. Complex cable harnesses and wiring harnesses, pre-wired assemblies, spiralized cables or fabric tape constructions for the most diverse fields of application and industry markets up to completely equipped energy supply systems or even hybrid hose packages are the main arteries for the electrical connection and networking of the individual machines and systems.
Have you had any contact with CCG staff in the various companies?
Of course! Primarily with our colleagues from KCI in Italy, SCHRADE Kabeltechnik Allmendingen and Leszno and of course with our TKD sister companies. Of course, I already had some contact with a few colleagues from Jobarco in the Netherlands. No one can get around connectivity.
And thanks to LinkedIn, of course, communication is also much improved and accelerated.
What activities or tasks give you the most energy?
Joint development with our business partners on/of new product solutions.
To have the freedom to work creatively in “my job” and to be able to put my own ideas and knowledge into practice.
Anything but standard! 😉
What do you like to do outside of work? How do you handle the work-life balance?
Hmmm! Sometimes a bit difficult, that’s why I don’t work from home, but only directly in the location Reutlingen. So I at least create a “distance” between “business” and “private”.
Apart from that I listen to a lot of music, I like to cook and take pictures of the nature and landscape with enthusiasm, I do sports regularly, even if this is a bit more difficult at the moment due to Corona and I learn the Hungarian language at the same time.
